Meet Ratdogs.

General Information

What are Ratdogs?
Ratdogs, or domestic fancy ratdogs, are a domesticated subspecies of the wild Brown Wolfrat. They have been selectively bred for millennia, and their size and color varies wildly depending on their breeding. Throughout the centuries ratdogs have performed many different chores, including hunting, protection, and companionship. Ratdogs are popular pets for their intelligence and loyalty. Most commonly they are trained and bred to be "finders", as their senses of smell are incredibly strong. However, their eyesight is weak, and blindness is common. Ratdogs use their sense of smell to find food. They are highly adaptable omnivores.

There are currently two known breeds: the common ratdog, and the slightly newer variety, the dograt. Although ratdogs and dograts appear dissimilar, their differences are merely phenotypic. It is said that ratdogs exhibit more "ratlike" behaviors and are more independent, and that dograts are more like dogs in manner, and are the more loyal of the two breeds. Ratdogs have thicker fur, fluffy tails, and round ears. Dograts have no fur on their hands, feet, and tails.
