I have a quick announcement for you guys!
Normally I would hold off on making announcement posts until the beginning of each month, but this is a change that's going to affect all dograts ordered starting immediately, and even current dograts that are already in the database. (But only if you wish!)
I've changed some things on the Dograt base around a little - this isn't a decision I make lightly, because I don't like the idea of changing something once it's already out in the world, but I've mulled it over and I think these specific changes are for the better.
First of all, Details B now colors the inner ear on dograts.
The marking Ears will no longer color the inner ear, as well.
Previously all markings that appeared fully or partially on the Details B region were reduced in opacity to reflect that they were coloring the "skin" of the dograt. Now, any markings that are entirely on the Details B region show up fully at 100% opacity. Markings that are only partially on the hands, feet, and tail, such as Thylacine, Piebald, and Freckles are unchanged.
There is a new Dograt Custom Demo PSD with these that I recommend you download! The custom demo PSDs are under "customs" on the order page; even if you don't plan on buying a custom, it's fun to play around with them.
Additionally, the Ratdog Info Page markings list shows the updated markings.
Which dograt markings have been updated?:
What does this mean for already made dograts?
Not much! If you are an owner of any dograts that has been affected by these changes, and you'd like me to update their art, email me (using the same email you used to order your ratdogs under your owner name) their IDs and I'll send you the new .png files and update their profile in the database. I'll likely update them at the same time I do order fills. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
I will never change an existing ratdog without your permission! If you'd rather have your ratdogs unchanged, there's no worries and no judgement! Ratdogs with outdated art, when bred, will produce offspring with up to date art. It's not, like, a hereditary trait or anything.
And remember: Direct any ratdogs bullying others with outdated art immediately to the principal's office. We have a zero tolerance policy on bullying!
